Fall Creek Falls
Tuesday Ashley and I drove about an hour and a half to Fall Creek Falls State Park, the home of eastern United States' tallest waterfall, plunging 256 feet. The park sits at the junction of two largish creeks(almost rivers), Fall creek and Cane creek. There are miles of hiking, horseback riding, and biking trails (thankfully they are all separate) which wind through a moist Oak and Hickory forest.
We did 2 hikes on Tuesday. First the very scenic Gorge Overlook trail, which gives a few expansive views the northeastern edge of the Cumberland plateau, and then the 1/2 mile Cable trail, which descends 300 feet down a rocky face to the bottom of the falls.
After we climbed out, we were beat. We went to a Mexican restaurant for dinner and Margaritas, YUM!
