PacknClean

Yesterday was a very busy day. Ashley's parents arrived here around 10:30 to help us pack and clean the apartment. We got some of it done however, the weather reports were all forecasting more freezing rain, sleet, snow, and wind. They left here about 1 so they could get home safely. Ashley and I continued to clean and pack until about 5:30, at which point, it was time to get out of the apartment, for at least a little while. We tried several resataurants, most of which were closed, until Hacienda Las Glorias. We ate some great mexican food and left the restaurant about 45 minutes after arriving there. I should mention, before going in, it had just been raining and sleeting slowly all day. The driving wasn't too bad, just a little slow moving. When we stepped outside, 3 inches of snow covered the car and parking lot, and was whipping through the air at 30 MPH! Visibility was 20 ft or less so driving was, um...interesting. we checked a friend's place 2 blocks away to see if she had power, she did, but only for about 2 minutes before it went out. The bar that I was supposed to be playing at at 8PM called and cancelled me, so our evening was open. On the way back home we started making plans for a powerless evening, only to find we still had power. We lost power for a short amount of time, but we had been at the restaurant then. All-in-all we fared well, Ashley's parents still don't have power. Blizzard! they were saying on the radio and on the internet, but all we got was 1/4" of ice and 3 or 4 inches of snow. HA, some blizzard.
